1760: Official start date of the revolution in Britain in the textile industry (1)
1764: James Hargreaves invented the Spinning Jenny which allowed
multiple spindles to be spun at once (2)
1793: The Industrial Revolution spreads to the United States when the
first textile mill was opened in Rhode Island (3)
1837: John Deere invented the steel plow (4)
1844: The telegraph is invented by Samuel Morse (5)
1856: The Bessemer Process is invented by Henry Bessemer which
allowed for larger production of steel (6)
1876: Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone (7)
1879: Thomas Edison created the first incandescent light bulb which
permitted factories to be open after dark (8)
1880: The Education Act made school required by law for children up
to 10 years of age (9)
1903: The first airplane flight was made by the Wright Brothers in
Kitty Hawk, North Carolina (10)
